My Story
Hi, my name is Kian Kaialoa. I am a graphic design student and freelancer based in San Francisco. I am currently pursuing my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the Academy of Art University, where I am exploring my passion for design.

Growing up in Napa Valley, I was surrounded by the natural beauty of the vinyards and the luxury associated with it. I was inspired by the fashion, the quality of fabrics, the vibrancy of colors, and the enjoyment of putting together a "look." I also became fascinated with the consumer and restaurant industries, establishments with a strong vision, which sparked my curiosity. I began to frequent these locations, immersing myself in them to understand what people valued in those experiences. I realized that they appreciated quality design and gravitated toward places that had a story, character, and unique charm. This realization fueled my desire to learn more about fashion and graphic design.

In high school, I took an introductory digital design class. Through my experiences and connections with local luxury boutiques, I had the opportunity to collaborate with brands like State & First, for which I created a summer campaign. I modeled, photographed, and designed the campaign poster myself. This experience solidified my passion for graphic design and fashion. I continued to take digital design classes, reaching the advanced digital design course in my senior year and passing it with flying colors.

Being accepted into the Academy of Art University with the presidential scholarship made this journey feel even more real for me. From that moment on, I promised myself that I would fully commit to my passion for design and strive to excel in my studies and future endeavors.
